..... Volunteers Make the Difference

In Canada, one in four people volunteer their time and effort towards the improvement of their community and their country.

It is estimated that the contribution of volunteers to the Canadian economy and the welfare of it's citizens has a value over 100 billion dollars annually.

At a local level, King Township has innumerable volunteer groups working towards the betterment of the community in which they live.  From the broad concept of Communities in Bloom, to the more focused efforts of the Dufferin Marsh Committee, King Townships citizens care greatly and are extremely generous with their time.

There are many great ideas for the enrichment of our communities in place, but sadly, as is common in volunteer organizations, there are too few people to help execute the many projects that would benefit the people who live in our villages and hamlets.

Listed to the right are some of the more prominent volunteer organizations whom we applaud for helping to affect positive change, and thereby improve our quality of life.

With the effort of, and ownership by the people of the community, we keep our house in order so that we are stronger, better and more able to respond to future challenges.

If you are not currently volunteering in your community, please consider giving of your time to any one of the organizations listed.
